Mr.Prakash shifted to Delhi and has been practising as a lawyer since 1985. After having practised mostly in Delhi High Court for initial period, shifted the place of practise to the Supreme Court of India and became an Advocate-on-Record in 1991.
Supreme Court of India conducts regular examination for practising lawyers and nominates successful candidates as ‘Advocates-on-Record’ for the purposes of filing cases on behalf of litigants in the Supreme Court of India.
Has been dealing with both civil and criminal cases, though majority of them are civil, as an Advocate-on-Record of the Supreme Court of India, which includes drafting of petitions, presenting them in court and either argue the cases himself or brief a Senior Counsel on the instructions of the clients.
There are more than hundred decided and reported cases of the Supreme Court of India which have been drafted and either argued by him or by senior counsel briefed by him.
Has closely worked with and briefed many eminent senior counsels including the Law Officers – Attorney General for India, Solicitor General of India etc. – of the Government of India. Had been attached to the office of the Attorney General for India and was also on the panel of drafting and arguing counsel for the Central Government for the cases in the Supreme Court of India during 1993-96 and 2004-2009.
Represents/ has represented apex bodies like University Grants Commission, All India Technical Education Council, Medical Council of India, Veterinary Council of India etc. in the Supreme Court of India. Also represents public bodies like State Electricity Board, Public Service Commission etc. Apart from conducting Litigations in Courts and Tribunal, has conducted many Conciliation and Arbitration Proceedings before several Arbitral Tribunals, some of them have been presided over by the retired Judges of the Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court.
